Hello. I am Jessica Behm, Tara’s little sister and Austin’s aunt.

Thursday afternoon we received news that a family never wants to hear. My 14 year old nephew, Austin Saylor, was diagnosed with B-acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Our world was turned upside down, and inside out in a matter of seconds.

If you know Austin, you know how strong-willed and determined he is. He will not let cancer defeat him, because, "all he does is win- win, no matter what"!

He is in good spirits, making jokes, laughing, and preparing himself for the battle ahead.

Tomorrow morning he will have a bone marrow biopsy, and a port inserted to start administering chemotherapy. We know the road ahead is long and there will be both good and bad days. We are asking for you to keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Send all the good positive vibes you can muster his way! We are certain that with our village behind us, we can overcome this obstacle, and on the other side we will be stronger than ever!

Tara and Austin will have to be in Salt Lake for at least 4 weeks and then hopefully they can head home to continue treatment. Treatment from start to finish will last about 2.5 years. Right now we are trying to raise money to help living expenses, travel, and medical costs so they do t have to worry about it.
