Help our mum fight cancer

Donation protected
My dear friend Aga (Agnieszka) is a loving mum to two gorgeous girls: Greta, aged 4 and Gracia, aged 6.

Finding out that Aga (aged 43) had invasive breast cancer at the end of November 2020, came as a complete shock to all. Aga tried to comfort herself by the statistics that many people recover. Two weeks later an urgent CT scan showed that the cancer has already spread to her liver, bones and bone marrow! This was not the kind of breast cancer the statistics favoured. Aga had her first dose of chemotherapy on 8th January 2021. However, unfortunately since then her blood results haven't been good enough (with her platelets levels being far too low) to continue with the chemotherapy treatment!

Aga worked as a nurse for the NHS on a contract basis and therefore has no provision for income while she is not working. She is struggling to make ends meet.

Aga tried to pack up the children and travel back to Poland before Christmas to be with her extended family and to access healthcare in Poland. Her brother offered to drive her there as flying was not recommended for cancer patients. However, due to the new strain of Covid being discovered in the UK, Aga and the children were turned away from the two ferry terminals as Europe closed its borders to people in the UK. Aga had to take the children back to their rented accommodation in Nottingham and at present she is becoming weaker and weaker, struggling to carry out simple daily tasks.

Every day counts in this desperate fight. Her family and friends are looking at all possible options to help her. Alternative treatments, private oncology clinics, specialist diet, food supplements, etc. We need help to raise funds to support all these costly options.

Aga is a wonderful mum, bringing up her daughters single-handedly, with very little support / help. Aga rarely moans or complain about her situation, she just gets on with it – an absolute trooper! She always thinks of everyone else first; now is the time we are asking family, friends and kind-hearted people to help Aga.

Aga recently said that 'Hope dies last'...

We understand that there is a lot of heartache out there at the moment due to Covid-19, both in terms of health and financial struggle. All we can say is that anything you can donate to help Aga fighting this dreadful disease, will be much appreciated from the bottom of her and her daughters’ hearts. Help us give Greta and Gracia as many memorable days with their mummy as we can.
