Fishing in the dark for Tammy & Randy
Donation protected

Tammy and Randy met back in 1995 , fell in love and began their journey together. Loving parents of two beautiful young ladies, Dominique and Haley, Tammy and Randy have always put being close and spending time together as priorities over all other things. Enjoying a simple life of hard work and good times with friends and loved ones, they have always been grateful for the blessings that they have, never complaining or wanting more.
Around this time last year Tammy was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. With the loving support of her family and a fierce fighting spirit, Tammy marched on with a positive attitude and a spirit of thankfulness for every day that God blesses her with. Doctors were successful in removing Tammy's ovaries and what they believed to be, all of her cancer cells. Now, almost a year later exactly, Tammy is in the fight of her life in the hospital with Randy and many others by her side. The cancer has returned...... only this time it has chosen her lungs, rib cage and is considered Stage 4. We thank God that Tammy is in one of the best hospitals in the world with some of the best doctors in the world surrounded by the best family in the world.
Tammy and Randy still, however, face a multitude of everyday challenges, especially financial. We would like to help ease those day to day burdens for them, so they can focus more on Tammy's health and recovery. Anything that could help them in their time of need.
As my husband and I ponder and pray about this whole situation, we have an overwhelming thankfulness for every minute we have together as a family and every memory that we have been able to enjoy together. If there is one thing that I would truly love to give my sister and her family at this moment, it is that, more time together as a happy family, creating many more loving memories.
That got us thinking...we were planning on going on a date tomorrow night. And although, nothing truly special, just a good time together, maybe dinner and a movie, etc.. it would probably cost us around a hundred bucks or so. My husband came to me and suggested that we skip the dinner and the movie, add up the monetary value of what it would cost and go fishing together instead. We could just be together, create a new memory and watch the sun go down. We would then take the money, as well as the thought of that wonderful time together, and send them both to Tammy and Randy, in hopes to give them many more date nights and memories as well.
So we would like to propose, that everyone that reads this, think of the next outing, date or family activity that you were going to enjoy, skip it, donate the same monetary value to this wonderful family along with a prayer and some loving thoughts of time spent together. Time, that we all take for granted far to often. So as for me and my family, we'll go fishing in the dark! May God bless you and keep you all.
