Help my family in Gaza.

Hello, my name is Hamam Majed, I’m 25 years old and from Gaza. I am reaching out on behalf of my family as my uncle has started a fundraising campaign for us. In this relentless conflict, I am asking for urgent help due to the dire conditions we are facing here in Gaza.

After more than 340 days of war, my family has been forced to flee repeatedly, losing everything we once had. We are struggling to survive and meet even our most basic needs—food, water, medical care, shelter, and financial aid. Our home, once a place of peace, has been devastated by war, leaving us desperate and displaced.

We have lost our livelihoods, our education, our dreams, and our sense of security. What we need now is a chance to rebuild our lives and find safety and stability. Your support could offer us a vital lifeline and give us hope for a brighter future, despite the ongoing turmoil.

My family consists of 13 members including my 74-year-old grandmother Mariam who is unable to walk, my father Majed 53 yrs and my mother Rana 45 yrs. The rest of my family members are Zainab 9 yrs, Aysha 11 yrs, Fatima 12 yrs, Eman 14 yrs, Rebhi 18 yrs, Asma 20 yrs, Mariam 22 yrs, Ahmed 23 yrs, Hammam 23 yrs, Aziza 25 yrs.

With great sadness and sorrow, I inform you that my father was killed on September 8th as a result of aircraft bombing the shelters in Khanyounis. He was our hope, our security, and our refuge. We lost our lives, the war intensified, and our conditions became difficult. Now my uncle Mohammed is the one who takes care of us and our lives.

Our neighborhood has been raided and destroyed since the beginning of the war. Dozens of houses around us have been bombed, leaving our own home severely damaged. There is no infrastructure left—no electricity, communication lines, landlines, internet, or cell towers. We have no access to water or sewage services, and the roads and surrounding lands have been bulldozed. Even the UNRWA clinic and Al-Shifa Hospital, which served our community, have been targeted and destroyed. Our area has become uninhabitable.

We’ve had to flee our home four times, the last time when the occupation forces entered Rafah. We sought refuge with relatives, but now we’re living in a tent, which is not suitable for human habitation. We are 12 people crammed into this small, simple tent, struggling to survive amidst the destruction.

Now, I would like to share the story of my brother, Ahmed Majed, and myself. We are both final-year medical students. Our academic journey began in Sudanese universities, but we faced delays in graduating due to the war in Sudan, which led to the suspension of studies. Eventually, we returned to Gaza, where we devoted ourselves to helping those injured by the ongoing war.

During this time, we volunteered as doctors at Al-Shifa Hospital and with the Palestinian Red Crescent, providing medical care to those affected by the brutality of war.

Recently, after more than a month, our university resumed classes. However, we had lost our passion for learning and graduating. Instead, I continued volunteering in hospitals and field clinics, witnessing the pain and hope of others. Through this experience, the spark of our dream to graduate and serve our community was reignited.

We are determined to continue our education, but we are now required to return to our university immediately to avoid further delays in our graduation. Unfortunately, the road ahead is filled with obstacles, as the reality of war threatens to delay our progress.

Despite the hardships, we have chosen to rise above and hold onto hope. The decision to travel and continue our studies was a difficult one, but financial difficulties are now hindering our path. I humbly ask for your support to help us pay our university fees.

My sister Fatima (12) is a middle school student and she had a beautiful life and always played sports. My younger sisters Aisha (9) and Zainab (8) are elementary school students and they never dreamed of anything more than a normal, safe and happy life.

A Desperate Appeal for Help: Your Support Could Save Our Lives

This campaign is our final hope, our last chance to escape the horrors of war and find safety. Your support and donations could be the lifeline that saves us.

We have waited patiently, hoping for the war to end and for peace to return. But with no end in sight, we have been forced to make this difficult decision and reach out for your help.

No matter the size of your contribution, it can make a real difference in helping us survive. Your support will allow our family to rebuild our lives, heal from the trauma we’ve endured, and start anew in a safe and secure environment.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for considering our appeal. Your kindness and generosity will forever change our lives.
