Even the Strong Need a Helping Hand
Thor recently joined the EQUI-KIDS Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program in Virginia Beach. He is a 13- year-old draft horse from an Amish logging farm and has made a great addition to the herd, enabling the expansion of therapeutic programs for older children, adults, veterans, and first responders - these participants need bigger horses, and Thor is over 17.2 hands tall!
Thor has suddenly been diagnosed with a deep wound infection from an injury prior to his transition to the therapeutic farm, and he requires surgery at NC State University. Without this specialized care, Thor won't be able to safely join the programs he was meant for. Like the veterans and first responders he works with in therapeutic services, even the strongest and most heroic among us sometimes need healing.
As a non-profit, EQUI-KIDS needs help to cover Thor's surgery, travel, and recovery costs so that he can change many more lives with his healing presence. Every donation, large or small, brings us one step closer to funding this essential treatment. Please consider donating or sharing in support of Thor's second chance and the EQUI-KIDS mission!
