My name is Dannielle Courchene-Cowdrey, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of the Greenlots Initiative for the Thornydale and Cortaro Farms Road community. Over the past several weeks, I have witnessed a significant increase in illegal dumping, roadside trash, graffiti, vandalism, and unsafe activity impacting our neighborhood. Recently, I experienced a personal safety incident while out running, which led me to file police reports and avoid my usual route for several days. When I returned, I was disheartened to see even more vandalism, trash, and hazardous substances, including shopping carts and dumped paint, accumulating along our roadsides and riverways.
These issues have created serious environmental, sanitation, and safety concerns for residents and local businesses. Large amounts of debris, obstructed river channels, and unauthorized dumping sites are not only unsightly but also pose health risks and attract pests. We have reached out to city officials and local agencies for assistance, though it is clear that immediate, community-led action is needed to restore and protect our neighborhood.
This fundraiser will support our efforts to remove trash and debris, clean up graffiti, provide supplies and safety equipment for volunteers, and cover hauling and sanitation costs. We are committed to working alongside the city and local organizations, we are also ready to lead this project and do as much as possible ourselves. We invite anyone willing to help, through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness, to join us in keeping Thornydale and Cortaro Farms Road clean and safe. Together, we can make a real difference and show pride in our community. Thank you for your support.
