Thornton Fire Replacement Helmets
Donation protected
Citizens of District 1 displayed their appreciation for the firefighters that serve their community by stealing their helmets right off the hooks in the apparatus bay at Thornton Fire Station 1 on Dorothy Blvd. On the morning of 9/11 it was discovered that the station Captain’s helmet and the on duty Battalion Chief were both missing their helmets. The all leather custom ordered helmets are valued together at over $1000.
The Captain and the Chief are borrowing helmets from other crews so they can continue to run calls. Replacement helmets will be purchased using their own money. Any information relating to the theft would be appreciated and should be forwarded to the Thornton Police Department.
