Thornton Elementary Choir Go to Competition!

Hi! I'm Mx. Kai, music educator and choir director at Thornton Elementary School in Thornton, CO.

Thornton Elementary is a Title 1 school where about 85% of students are eligible for free and reduced lunch. This means that accessing educational experiences is more difficult for our students and necessitates funding so as not to put additional burden on families.

Each year, there are choir competitions all over the country and we have one right here in our backyard in Denver, CO. It is hosted at Elitch Gardens which means that students get to perform for judges and spend the rest of the day enjoying the park! As a student in choir in my own school years, experiences like this were formative and unforgettable and I'd like to provide this opportunity to my students as well.

Please help me raise the funds to get these kids to competition this year! We have been working so hard on our repertoire and I am so proud of these young musicians. Thank you for your support!

Funds will be used for student and chaperone admission fees for the festival, event t-shirts, buses to and from, and substitute teachers to cover classes while we attend.
