Help Launch a Community Darts Academy – In Memory of Rob Thorne
Hi, my name is Ryan, and I’m raising funds to start a local darts academy built on the values of community, encouragement, and opportunity.
This academy was inspired by a shared belief between myself and Rob, who sadly passed away. Rob was a well-known and respected figure in the local darts community, someone who truly believed in helping others improve—not just as players, but as people.
Before his passing, we shared the same vision:
Setting an example of bringing more youth into the darts community and helping them develop.
After Rob passed, I was given the opportunity to make this vision a reality. Starting this academy is my way of continuing what we both believed in and ensuring that his passion for darts and community lives on in a positive, lasting way.
What the Academy Stands For
This will be a community-focused darts academy that:
- Supports beginners and young players learning the game properly
- Encourages confidence, discipline, and respect
- Creates a positive environment for development at every level
- Keeps darts inclusive, affordable, and accessible
Rob embodied these values, and they will be at the heart of everything the academy does.
