Jenshus Medical Expenses & Recovery
Donation protected
Ten years ago this month, Thore was in a devastating biking accident that left him quadriplegic, just as his life with his family was taking shape. Marita was just 1 year old at the time, and Justine and Thore had adopted her just 7 months prior to his accident. For the last ten years, their friends have watched in amazement at their ability to transcend, to roll with the punches, to face their many challenges head on. Since his accident, Thore has been a force to be reckoned with, and their determination and resilience has astonished all of their friends and family.
This last year has been met with one health setback after another. In May, Thore was hospitalized for sepsis, and his frail body has never recovered. He now has two very serious sores that are not healing, which now require extensive surgery and bed rest in a rehab hospital for at least 6 weeks, but most likely for longer.
Thore will be missing months of work. After insurance, their medical expenses will be massive. Justine will simply not be able to work extra shifts while juggling her own work schedule, taking Marita to and from school and various other activities, and spending precious, needed time at the rehab hospital with Thore.
As those who know her have learned, Justine really, REALLY, REALLY hates to ask for help. But help is required, so on behalf of the Jenshus family, I ask that you help them. If you can only give a little, every little bit helps. If you have been blessed with the means to give generously, please do so.
