What happened:
Michael, Noah, and Ruth were returning from Orangevale, Ca, where Michael was the supply pastor at the Oak Ave Church in Orangevale, CA. We were traveling home going northbound on CA 49 right past the Wolf and Combie intersection. Due to the flooding, high winds, and rain there was a down tree across the two northbound lanes just after the crest of the hill. We hit the tree without warning and broke the trunk in half. In the slurry of chaos our airbags deployed and one of the branches rolled into the engine and into the windshield while the rest rolled under the car. We managed to miraculously not roll over and came to a stop. All of us were in shock but miraculously no one was badly injured. Thank you to the many people who stopped to assist and call 911. As you can see from the pictures the car is a loss.
Need:
While our bodies are not seriously injured the car is a loss. The car has a lien and we owe more than the car is worth. Between the loan and collision deductible we need approximately a $8000 to pay the difference. Additionally, our SUV that can fit all of us needs repairs (transmission is slipping and stabilizing arm on passage front wheel needs to be fixed). Anything you can help with would be greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
The Thompsons:
We are a family of 7: Michael, Judene, Josiah 16, Noah 15, Ruth 10, Jeremiah 9, and Bethany 8. We moved from Citrus Heights CA to Grass Valley at the beginning of this school year. Michael works for the Grass Valley School district and this is our only source of income. Michael also has been doing volunteer work for Oak Avenue Free Methodist Church in Orangeville CA. Judene took a break from her paralegal courses to stay home and take care of the 5 kids when we moved to Grass Valley. Currently the Thompsons attend Whispering Pines Church in Grass Valley. The teens boys are active in Nevada County campus life. Ruth is starting 4H this month with leadership and poultry. Jeremiah does wrestling at Gilmore. Bethany is currently looking for a dance class to attend. We would appreciate any of your prayers as we try to navigate getting the car replaced etc.
