From the family,

We would first like to thank everyone for their continuous support through this challenging time in our family's life. When we found out that our mom had cancer it truly sucked the life out of us as she was the last person we expected to get sick. I know that many people say this but Kathy T. is truly the glue that holds the Thompson family together so the thought of losing her is unimaginable. Throughout these trying times she remains extremely positive and continues to worry more about John O. than she does herself, but that is just who she is. She is still doing choirs, going to the grocery store and refuses to sit down regardless of what we tell her so I can assure you that she is staying in good spirits. The only difference between the Kathy Thompson of old and the current Kathy T. is her lack of hair :-). I can definitely say that I (Timmy) did not get my mom's head which is b/s!

 

At this point, my mom does not want many visitors because she doesn't want to feel like a burden but screw that, go see her and remind her that she is an amazing person and is truly loved by so many people. She has helped so many people get back on track with life and did it without asking for a damn thing. Also, don't forget to say hi to John O. while you are there. He will either be in the basement, taking 1 of his 4-5 naps or sitting right next to his wife enjoying a television program that she is more than likely pretending to enjoy.

 

Her wish,

We finally sat down with her and figured out what she wants to do. Our family has never gone on a family vacation together and that is what she landed on. She would like to take all of the kids and grandkids down to Gatlinburg for a long weekend and not have to worry about anything. After doing some digging on houses down there we came up with the $10,000 mark that will allow us to pay for everything. This would provide us with an extremely nice house and cover all of the expenses.

 

Thank you all for your support and I cannot tell you what this will mean to her and the entire family. Whatever funds we are short will be picked up by us so don't feel obligated to donate. Once again, please stop by and see her whenever you can and remind her that she is one of the greatest.
