Recently my sister Amanda and her husband Mark Thompson decided to put away their nomadic lifestyle, selling their tiny house on wheels (which I think she might be regretting right about now) in exchange for a more permanent home to raise their family.  They found a small fixer upper to focus their efforts on.  Only a few months after purchasing their first home, fire threatened their community.  They were evacuated at 3:40am on July 26th for a fast approaching fire.  With fire trucks driving down their road blowing bull horns, they knew it was time to go.  Not fully realizing the magnitude of the fire, they packed a few belongings thinking they'd return a short while later. 

On Friday, they found out their home along with so many others, had been lost to the fire.  We are saddened and heartbroken by all of this and can't imagine the process of trying to pick up the pieces and start over when there is nothing but ash. 

As we've all seen of the news coverage of the Redding Carr Fire, it was a fire that caught an entire city by surprise and the destruction continues to spread. 

Many family and friends have asked how they can help.  All your prayers and generosity are so greatly appreciated.   We've started this Go Fund Me to help Amanda and Mark overcome some of their basic obstacles in re-establishing some of what they've lost. 

We hope this serves as a meaningful tool for those who want to help.   If you'd like to donate specific items to help them, please contact me.  Not knowing where they will live or what they'll be living in creates a few challenges that we want to be mindful of.
