Hi, I'm Matthew Beachy and I live in a rural farming community - Oakland MD. On Thursday, August 6, 2026, my brother in law Thomas Swartzentruber was seriously injured while stacking hay. He was pinned underneath a large cube of bales, resulting in a spinal cord injury and fractured sternum. He was flown to Ruby Memorial and underwent immediate surgery, and has lost feeling and ability to move from the waist down. He is currently stable and anticipating rehab and recovery, with experts projecting a recovery of 12- 18 months. A setback has been nerve damage affecting his digestive system. We are so grateful to the Lord for sparing his life! His wife Emily and 2 little girls, Lexi and Natalie, are visiting as often as possible. Since he is a farmer, his livelihood depends on lots of manual labor which he will not be able to do for the foreseeable future. There will be a financial gap during the recovery process with travel, rehab, and hospital stays. Only time will tell how much function and mobility he will regain. Join our community as we rally around Thomas and Emily and their family during this challenging time, with PRAYERS and financial support. Thank you for your generosity and caring hearts!
