Thomas’s eye doesn’t seem to be healing as I thought it would & I want to take him yo a veterinary ophthalmologist to be sure the original surgery was successful or if he needs another operation . That appointment starts at almost $400 & I don’t know what the surgery will cost if it’s needed but I will find out within the next two weeks after Thomas sees the specialist.

His eye only opens part-way & he keeps it closed a lot & I’m worried about his comfort and vision or lack of it.

Thomas is home & relaxing & healing. He is still undergoing follow-up treatment &

needs medication & special food since he has to be fed & has a hard time eating on his own due to the protective cone. His sutures should come off in 9 days hopefully then he’ll be more comfy.

I got him a huge 4’ x 3’ dog cage so he won’t bump himself on the bars with his e-collar.

He seems to be happy & even rolls on his back to let me rub his tummy which is a huge sign of trust, especially for a kitty who was feral & living in the bushes at Ramsey park most of his life.

I love him so much & I can never fully express my gratitude & appreciation for all of you for helping save this sweet boy.

His goal is to become more socialized & be adopted to an indoor only home with a family that can care for a special needs cat (only one eye) . I will miss him when the time comes but it will bring me joy knowing he’s happy & well loved.

My recently rescued 2-year old kitty , Thomas, is in desperate need of surgery on both eyes which are painful to him. His right eye needs to be removed completely (enucleation). His left eye has inverted inner eye lids and has no upper eyelid so the skin is constantly rubbing on his cornea, so he needs entropian and an eyelid transplant and graft. The high estimate is $2250 at Pet Maintenance and Repair in Prunedale and they are the lowest cost vet clinic in our area.

He is a very sweet and affectionate boy and was originally feral but now loves to be carressed by me.

I can use help with funds for cat food & litter, as well as some medication, but my current urgent project is getting surgery for Thomas so he can stop suffering and be comfortable and painfree.
