"Thomas Woldemariam Memorial Fund”

ውድ ቤተሰብና ጓደኞቼ፣ በቤተሰቤ ላይ የደረሰውን እጅግ አስደንጋጭና መሪር ሀዘን ትካፈሉኝ ዘንድ ወደፊታችሁ ቀርቢያለሁ። የምወደው የባለቤቴ ወንድም ቶማስ ከበደ ወልደማርያም በ38 አመቱ ከዚህ አለም ድካም በድንገት አርፍዋል። ቶማስ ባለፈው ግንቦት ወደ ዩናይትድ ስቴትስ ከመጣ ወዲህ በፖርትላንድ፣ ኦሪጎን ከተማ መኖሪያውን አድርጎ ለሰባት ወራትን አሳልፏል። 

 ቶማስ የመጀመሪያ ዲግሪውን ከኢትዮጵያ እንዲሁም ሁለተኛ ዲግሪውንም ከኖርዌይ ኦስሎ ያገኘ ሲሆን ሁልጊዜም ራሱን ለማሻሻል የሚጥር ትጉህ ሰው ነበር። በአዲስ አበባ በትለምዶ ኳስ ሜዳ (አቶቢስ ተራ) ተወልዶ ያደገው ቶማስ በማህበረሰቡ ውስጥ በጣም እጅግ ተወዳጅ፣ በማህበረሰቡ ውስጥም ለውጥን ለማምጣት ያለመታከት ይሰራ ነበር። ለማህበራዊ ፍትህ እና ለሰብአዊ መብቶች ያለው ፍቅር በወሳኝ ጉዳዮች ላይ ብርሃን የሚፈነጥቅና ለውጥን የሚያመጣ "Terrorism on Humans Traffic" የተሰኘ መጽሃፍ አሳትሟል።  

ቶማስ እዚህ አለም ባሳለፈው አጭር ጊዜ የብዙዎችን ህይወት በደግ ልቡ እና በሩህሩህነቱ ነክትዋል። ቶማስ ወደ እሜሪካን እገር ሲመጣ ትምህርቱን ለመቀጠልና ቤትሰቡን ብሎም አገሩን ለማስጠራት ሩቅ ሀሳብን ሰንቆ ነበር:: ቶማስ ትልቁ መታወቂያውም ለሀገሩ ኢትዮጵያ ያለው ጥልቅ ፍቅርና ለህዝቡ ያለው አሳቢነት ነበር :: ቶማስ የቤተስቡን ህይወት ለማሻሻል የቆመ የእህቶቹና ወንድሞቹ እንዲሁም የልጆቻቸው ተስፋና እና ብርሃን ነበር።

 የተወደዳችሁ ኢትዮጵያውያን እና የኢትዮጵያ ወዳጆች ፣ የቶማስን አስከሬን ወደ ኢትዮጵያን በመላክ የሚወዳትን አገሩን አፈር ይቀምስ ዘንድ አስከሬን ወደ ሀገሩ ኢትዮጵያ በመላክ እና በዚህ ፈታኝ ጊዜ ሀዘን ላይ ያሉ ቤተሰቦቹን ለመርዳት እንድትረዱን በትህትና እንጠይቃለን።

 I (Dereje Berhe) come to you with a heavy heart, seeking your kindness and support during this difficult time. My beloved brother-in-law, Thomas K. Woldemariyam, departed at the tender age of 38, leaving a legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his family and community. 

Thomas, a cherished member of our family, spent seven months in Portland, Oregon, following his journey to the United States last May. Thomas was a beacon of hope and inspiration, dedicated to improving the lives of those around him. With two bachelor's degrees from Ethiopia and a master's degree from Oslo, Norway, he was a relentless pursuer of knowledge, always striving to better himself and uplift those in need.

 Born and raised in Addis Ababa around QUAS MEDA (AUTOBIS TERA), Thomas was deeply rooted in his community, where he tirelessly worked towards creating positive change. His passion for social justice and human rights led him to publish a book titled "Terrorism on Humans Traffic," shedding light on critical issues and advocating for a safer world. 

Thomas was the primary source of income for his family back home in Ethiopia, supporting them with unwavering love and devotion. In his short time here, Thomas touched the lives of many with his kind heart, infectious spirit, and unwavering determination. He dreamed of settling in the US to further his education and continue his mission of making a difference in the lives of his friends and family. Despite being far from home, Thomas never forgot his roots, and his love for his country knew no bounds. 

 As we mourn the loss of this young and beautiful soul, we humbly ask for your assistance in sending Thomas's body to his home country, Ethiopia, and supporting his grieving family during this challenging time. Your generosity and compassion will help alleviate their burden and honor the legacy of a truly remarkable individual. 

 Together, let us come together to celebrate the life of Thomas K. Woldemariyam and continue his legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to making the world a better place.
