Thomas "Tommy" Spangler
Donation protected
Hello!! My name is Janice. I am helping my best friend, Melissa Spangler raise money for funeral expenses for her dad, who recently passed away due to Covid. The family is in dire need of financial help, and funeral costs are astronomical. I would personally be grateful for any donation made, as well as your time and consideration in helping this family out.
On July 19, 2022, Thomas "Tommy" Spangler passed peacefully at 79, after a determined fight against Covid and Covid Pneumonia.
You could always spot Tommy around town because he ALWAYS had his cowboy hat on and never met a stranger. Tommy would always do what he could to help others out.
The family is now asking for help to help cover funeral costs. He did not have life insurance, and being able to lay him to rest is financially out of the family's capabilities. I am asking for any donations. I know it is an economically rocky time for most of you. However, EVERY dollar helps give Tommy a proper burial. Please, please share with as many of your friends as possible
He was a USAF veteran; serving his country was his passion. Well-known for his early years at Natural Bridge Speedway (the Original Oval). He founded the React Club Stand, where he volunteered many hours (an organization dedicated to helping refuel the truckers with coffee and food). He founded and operated the CB Club in Buena Vista, known for its dances and various community events. He was a co-owner of Mel's Tire in Buena Vista, the 'go-to garage' for many years as a diesel mechanic. His hobby included restoring '56/'57 Chevys. He worked at Southern VA College for Women (now SVU) as a maintenance and grounds supervisor, where he retired due to knee and hip replacement surgeries. Even after his surgeries, he continued to help others and work on cars to keep busy enjoying life.
