- I'm raising money for my brothers funeral expenses. He not only leaves me but, 2 sisters, 3 children, 3 adopted children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. My brother had a severe heart condition and copd that had rendered him bed bound. He passed from a major heart attack. My brother was a big fun loving guy who liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, etc.. He loved the outdoors. We'd spent a lot of time as kids growing up doing things together. I was his tag along with his friends a majority of the time. He was my one and only big brother that I had but, he took care of me and protected me. He grew up fast and looked after me after school when our father was killed by a drunk driver. At that time of the accident he was 14 and I was 4. Our mother still worked for a little while but, she was still mourning and wanted to be home with us. He had taught me so much over the years. How to bait a hook, skiing, archery, construction, etc.. The list would go on and on. Needless to say because of him I'm a pretty well rounded person with a great sense of humor who can do many things! Two of our older sisters are deceased. My brother owned his own construction company at one time called TRC Construction. He was a former employee at J&J locks on Tyler Street in Pittsfield. He learned locksmithing from Our father who worked at GE in Pittsfield. He learned his culinary skills from our mother. Tom also used to make and sell candies, pies, meat pies, and other baked goods to local businesses. I have many more things that I would like to share about my brother with everyone but, I'm still in shock that our family is going through this and my heart is broken. I'm kind of at a loss for words right now.
