On August 6th, Tom Shaffer passed away from a pulmonary thromboembolism and subsequent cardiac arrest. He was airlifted to the hospital; however despite extensive efforts from the medical staff, he was unable to be resuscitated. Tom was a gentle soul, dedicated to his loving wife Amanda, his job and his farm. He was incredibly hard-working, both managing a business and maintaining his farm with his wife. The farm, and caring for their many animals was their passion, and one that they did together.

His loss is already palpable, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity and pleasure to know him.

As one can imagine, this traumatic and untimely event has brought unexpected financial hardship to Amanda. The medical bills, and particularly the Flight for Life Transport alone, will be overwhelming, even with insurance.

This Go Fund Me is being set up by her work family. Amanda has been there to support and "rescue" all of us countless times. It is our turn to help her in her time of need. If you are able, any donation would be greatly appreciated during this time.
