Tom Rayburn Army Vet Crossroads Inn Sudden Death

About three weeks prior to Christmas, my husband, Tom had been diagnosed with Lung Cancer. It was found accidentally. The cancer doctor was shocked he had no symptoms and was feeling good. He started radiation treatments. The stress of the COVID shut down to our restaurant & everything was wearing on him. Christmas night after dinner while relaxing he coughed and blood out. Right in front of our son, TJ, his wife Samantha & myself. I am in an extremely bad position right now. I cannot open now due to not having Tom to cook or assist me. I must still pay the mortgage & other bills. Not to mention medical bills & funeral expenses. I am not one to ask for help, but there is no other option.
I was married to my best friend Tom for 36+ years. We purchased the Crossroads Inn restaurant in 2007. He was our talented Chef. The Crossroads Inn has an exceptionally long history. It was built in 1886 as a Hotel. It is situated in the small Village of Adamsdale in Schuylkill Haven, Pa. It has had many owners in the past 100+ years. We have had the pleasure of serving the community for 13 years. All who entered as Guest, left as friends.
In March COVID struck, we were devastated financially as well as emotionally. Governor Wolf put on some harsh restrictions. During the shut-down we could only serve takeout, which did not pay the bills. We applied for Grants. We only received $1,000.00!
So, then we had to take out a loan to make ends meet. Upon re-opening, business was still terribly slow. We could only seat 50 % with social distancing. But, quickly Wolf changed it to 25% capacity seating. Absolutely no bar seating. Patrons could have an alcoholic beverage with a meal but, not an appetizer. When they were finished with their meal, not another single alcoholic beverage could be served. Then came the 2nd indoor dining shut down. Governor Wolf announced on 12/17/20 effective 12/19/20 @ 12:01 AM no indoor dining until 1/04/2021. With the upcoming Holiday parties and reservations, the food & liquor was already purchased. The parties & reservations had to be canceled.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for anything you think you can spare.
God Bless!
