Thomas Quarmbys Battle

Hello everyone . This is a short story about Thomas Quarmby and his battle over the past few years . We would like to thank you initially For visiting this site and taking the time to read  about Thomas.

In  January 2018, Thomas was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive rare form of bone cancer called osteosarcoma. He was just 11 years old. He began treatment that consisted of six months of chemotherapy, as well as an operation to remove his right knee and tibia.




He began his treatment in September 2018, Thomas began a long and hard process of physiotherapy to strengthen his leg muscles so that he would be able to walk again. He made huge progress and his life was beginning to return to some resemblance of normal.




Unfortunately, Thomas relapsed with metastatic osteosarcoma in October of 2019. This time it was in his lungs. He soon had to proceed with surgery to remove tumours one his lungs.




In February 2020, Thomas relapsed once again, with tumours returning to his lungs, as well as his chest cavity . Treatment was chemotherapy, but this was not as successful as would have hoped to stop the growth and multiplication of his tumours.




Currently, Thomas is back in hospital receiving intravenous chemotherapy, and his family is hoping to raise funds to be able to afford a series of 8-10 radium injections at an approximate total cost of between $80,000 to $100,000.

These injections  will enable Thomas access to new and promising treatment options that will become available later in the year 2020.

This fundraiser has now become quite urgent , as treatment will be required in the next few months . And payments needs to be sorted up front .




The organisers of this GoFundMe met Thomas in 2018 on a camp run by the Kyle Andrews Foundation. And have since become very close friends with the family . Sharing time together and outings at sporting events and the like.
