28 year old Thomas Pomplin a member of the Empire Hose Company #1 (Piermont Fire Dept) succumb to the effects of overheating and exhaustion at a fire in 1854. Thomas "Pomp" Pomplin should be recognized as the first recorded Line of Duty Death for Rockland County Fire Services. This fundraiser is to raise funds for a monument located in Flywheel Park and a potential headstone at his family plot, defining his heroism.
