Thomas, our son is in kidney failure med expense

Hi, my name is Gracie Tompkins and my 15 year old son, Thomas, is in renal failure and has been in East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville since early last Friday morning after being transferred from 2 other hospitals. He had been sick for almost 2 weeks throwing up every time he coughed. I took him to urgent care when it first started and they said it was probably a stomach virus and gave him something for the nausea and sent us home. The vomiting continued so I took him to his dr and they immediately drew blood for testing when I told her his symptoms, we were going to wait for the results and go from there; however, around 10:30 the same night, the lab in Johnson City called and told us to get him to the hospital immediately because he is in acute renal failure. He has had to have his kidneys biopsies and he has 30% damage to his kidneys. The doctors are optimistic that we can get this damage reversed, but we have a way to go, he isn’t out of the woods yet. We asked about staying in the Ronald McDonald house, but due to issues in my husband and my past, we don’t qualify to stay there, so we need a little help with prayers, paying for places to stay, eating, and traveling.
