Thomas Merrill's Medical Journey: Help Needed

Most of you know I am Cathy, wife of Thomas Merrill (aka Murdoch) almost 47 years. Thomas has had a serious decline in his health very quickly. 2 weeks ago when I took him in to Wound Care Center they quickly changed his dressing and sent him to ER then to ICU. He was having heart failure, his blood pressure was so high the monitors couldnt read it, kidney failure and part of his lung collapsed. He was in the ICU for 9 days, now is on a regular floor and stabilizing to be discharged to his new life. Tom has lost the ability to walk, stand, and hold himself upright in bed or a chair. He is refusing to go to a nursing facility, he just wants to be home with his family. Tom has always put his family, grandkids and anyone he could help before himself. Now Tom needs help! We need a ramp for him to get in and out of the house and he will have frequent medical appointments. Medical transportation is not a covered expense and is about $200-$300 each way to every appointment. Tom's ongoing medical supplies are not covered. The insurance is only covering part of the hospital bed, hoyer lift and medications. This leaves a massive gap in paying for co-pays, medical transportation, medical supplies and a ramp. Every bit will be a blessing and helpful to bring Tommy home. We thank each and everyone of you and pray for God to help Tom improve.
