Thomas Mac Smith's Funeral Expenses
My dad, Thomas McVeigh "Mac" Smith, was a pioneer in the community, human and civil rights activist, Catholic educator and advocate, and just a wonderful person. He was an LSU Tiger in his early years, but his heart was always with the Hogs as he's a Razorback through and through. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side shortly before midnight on, September 2nd in Little Rock, Arkansas. He committed his life to prayer and healing in and around the faith community, as well as throughout the world. He built missions to support the disenfranchised throughout the world, specifically in Venezuela, Mexico, and throughout the U.S. He left a legacy of helping others and serving anyone that needed it, regardless of their situation. Our family is seeking assistance to help with burial costs to facilitate a proper and dignified ceremony in his birthplace of Little Rock, Arkansas. The assistance will help cover the needs below.
The service and costs will actually total more than our goal. We have actually chosen to go with more financially friendly options with the overall cost still totaling $11,500 for the funeral service, casket, the plot to bury our father, and a headstone.
Our family is extremely thankful for any assistance as we know this time is very difficult for millions of people not just at home but around the world. Our dad always taught us that God will show up when you least expect him, and will always provide. We thank everyone for their continued love and support, even if your gift is a hug, a prayer, or kind words. We have been so moved by the heartwarming texts, messages, and calls we have received. We admired our dad more than anything, and we just want to give him the best we can so that we provide him with the utmost respect during this time. Our family thanks you and loves each of you so much.
