Update 1/02/22
Thank you to everyone who has donated towards Tommy's medical bills! I've been busy on my end making calls and getting him temporary medical assistance for the days he was in the hospital. 

I've disabled the donation button because, guys, I think we did it! It looks like we'll have enough to cover his entire stay in the hospital, with some extra to go towards his speech and occupational therapy appointments! Thank you so much for helping us out! 

Tommy has been doing so much better too! It gave us a real scare when he had the stroke, but he's come back around so quickly. I'm so grateful!

We are waiting to hear back on the results of his heart monitor to see if he has an irregular heartbeat that may have caused a the clot, but his blood tests have come back as normal for a young, healthy adult.

My name is Amber Knudson and I am looking to raise funds for my husband Thomas Knudson's medical bills.

 

Thomas is a healthy man. He's 26 years young, healthy, and doesn't smoke or drink. However, on Sunday, December 12, Thomas had a stroke, to the shock of everyone. Doctors have ran test after test, but as of December 16th, doctors still have no idea what caused Thomas' stroke. We are waiting on three tests to come back yet, but the hospital's Neurology team doesn't think those will show anything abnormal either.

 

By the grace of God, Thomas is still mobile and won't need physical therapy, but will need speech therapy and some occupational therapy. The stroke impacted his left thalamus, affecting his speech and memory. While his word finding right now is difficult for him, and his memory is a bit spotty for recent events, he has been improving every day since Sunday. We are so very thankful for this.

 

We, at this time, are looking to raise $10,000 to go towards Thomas' upcoming hospital bills. As of Tuesday, his total hospital bill was just over $14,000, but he spent an additional night in the hospital with more tests Monday morning.

 

Thomas will be unable to return to work/job searching until his stroke fatigue calms down to him only needing one nap per day or less. We are hoping this will be in three months, but it may take longer.

 

All funds from this GoFundMe will go towards Thomas' medical bills and therapy bills.
