The following costs are eligible for payment by the fund:
1. Provision of college scholarships. A scholarship of $500-1000 for music majors and $250-500 for music minors for no more than a total of one graduating senior per year who has been approved by the committee will be supported by these funds.
2. Payment of fees and costs in the course of band participation. Supported costs include yearly band fees, the cost to rent/purchase instruments, Solo and Ensemble Competition entrance fees, instrument repair or supply costs (including reeds, mutes, percussion pieces, etc.), or similar costs incurred on behalf of the band or by students with financial need.
3. The payment of fees or participation costs for other activities to cultivate students’ love of music. These could include summer band camp or similar extracurricular music programs for deserving students with financial need.
