Thomas Dominic Parrotti passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 after complications from the Coronavirus. Thomas was a teacher and leader. He was always willing to help the underdog. He was a cherished judge for the American Kennel Club and was seen there as a steadfast supporter of purebred dogs and a popular and respected judge of all Terrier Breeds and Best in Show. As a judge, he was known for his friendly and kind demeanor and vast knowledge. Thom led a very accomplished life held many positions of leadership and brought many great things to the communities of which he served. Thom's family and friends wish to extend a scholarship in his honor to youth.
We are starting a scholarship in Thom’s honor. Our hope is to bring this scholarship nationwide to all youth of families in the AKC Circuit. We plan to start small but hope that with support of many we can extend this to many.
Scholarship will be awarded to a graduate who has a passion for the outdoors, animals and design. Someone who exhibits the shows the dedication, determination, self-motivation, loyalty, genuine and outgoing nature.
Candidates must have attained a minimum GPA of at least 80% and plan to attend a two-year college pursuing a degree in the fields of the outdoors; including animals and land or a degree in fashion and/or design. Candidates must write an essay of 300-700 words describing how they exemplify the characteristics as described above. In addition, the essay should address an individual who has been most influential in their lives and the reasons therefore.
