Thomas (Chris)Lauer Medical and Childcare Expenses

This GoFundMe site is set up in honor of five-year-old Thomas Lauer who was diagnosed in June with a Stage 3/Intermediate Risk Neuroblastoma solid tumor. Thomas began chemotherapy treatments in July with Atrium’s Pediatric Oncology program at Levine Children’s in Charlotte. Tom, who is one of the most joyful and trusting children you will ever meet, is the fifth of six children of Chris and Katherine Lauer of South Charlotte.
As of this message (9/30/20), Tom's parents have learned the unfortunate news that Tom's first four rounds of chemotherapy have had little to no effect. His doctors think that the tumor may have become insensitive to the treatments and are recommending a heavier-dose and longer regimen of chemotherapy.
This treatment will include juggling numerous days, as well as overnights, at the hospital. The expectation is that this will require nearly full time child care, which will allow Chris to keep working as the sole provider. Child care expenses are estimated to be about $3,600 per month. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to assist the Lauer family with these expenses as a way to walk along with them and share the burdens of this journey.
All funds will be used directly by the Lauer family for child-care costs and immediate medical expenses. Even if you are unable to contribute monetarily please lift them up in your daily prayers.
