Thomas, a friend to all!

Hello everyone. This is Kelly Lounsbury, Thomas Lounsbury’s little sister. You might know Thomas from bagging groceries at Piggly Wiggly, Amazon warehouse, Case High school, wheelchair basketball, dart league, bowling league, or seen him riding the streets in his wheelchair probably faster than the speed limit in Racine Wisconsin. Some of you might not know my brother and some of you he has given the shirt off his back. Thomas has always been a giving person with a heart of gold.

Since the day he was born, Thomas has been a fighter, independent, and never given up. Thomas was born with Spina Bifida and cerebral palsy the doctor gave him 6 days to live. Throughout Thomas’s life he has had 15 plus surgeries and because of the spina bifida he has no feeling below his waist.

Thomas being in a wheelchair his whole life has had his share of challenges and complications.

In 2021 he went to the hospital for an infected sore then he turned septic but by April 2022 things were looking up. Thomas was put at The Bay at Sheridan nursing facility in Kenosha WI where they we’re supposed to clean and dress the wound for him but the infection stayed in Thomas’s body and set up other sores that eventually lead to a bone infection. They put Thomas on hospice care Easter Sunday 2023. Thomas’s “friend” who he was living with before all this has been cashing his Social Security disability checks and using it for “their rent” when my brother hasn’t lived with her in 2 years. Thomas has no money for final burial expenses so I am asking on his and the family’s behalf for help and setting up this fund for when Thomas’s time comes to be with God.
