Joanna's Animal Behavior Masters
Donation protected
Hey Everyone! Phil and I wanted to start this campaign for Joanna. We know there are a lot of people who want to support her as she continues her education and thought this would be a great way to do it. We hope you will find it in your hearts (and in your pockets!) to help Joanna on the next part of her journey.
"I've been talking about animal behavior ever since I could talk, and communicating with animals even before then. I studied Psychology at the University of Virginia, and adopted our dog, Duncan, soon after graduating. Duncan had been a stray and came to us with high fear, anxiety and aggression, which I worked to heal using the scientific approaches I had learned in my Psychology classes. I realized that working with animals was my calling, and I worked for 5 years in Biology Research, Veterinary Medicine and Animal Welfare while studying Animal Behavior and applying to this Master's program in my free time. I was thrilled to be offered a place in the program. I feel that everything in my life has led to studying Applied Animal Behavior and Animal Welfare at the prestigious University of Edinburgh's Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Scotland with international leaders in this new field. My goal is to use the knowledge I gain to help people understand and communicate with animals so that we can live together peacefully & prevent euthanasia of healthy pets with challenging behavioral issues".
