We need to talk. We need to make it known.
I've been there and I know many of you have too. My goal is to help people who are going though a tough time and to help those who aren't, to understand what it's like. No more talking down to depression. No more "oh, she just does it for the attention." And NO MORE being afraid to speak up about how you feel!!
To do this I have designed a silicon bracelet that says "Depression. Is. Real. I'm here to talk" and plan to purchase and distribute as many as I can, but I need your help.
I am a high school senior from KHS and after the recent loss of our fellow students I felt called to speak up and simply to Do Something! I have a job, but I am also saving money to attend college in the fall. What I am asking for is donations to help me purchase them.
I AM NOT looking to make a profit, I am looking to make a difference in as many lives as possible. I will start with Kingsburg and move to the surrounding towns but who says I have to stop there? I am passionate about this and I want you to be as well. The bracelets will be given to any High School or Junior High student that is willing to wear them.
I believe students should be able to talk about their problems, or about anything they are going through without feeling judgement or ridicule. If you believe in that like I do, please help me reach my goal.
