Brandon needs help following a motor cycle accident
Donation protected
Hi my name is Sonia and I’m raising funds for my Cousin Steven and his young 21 year old son Brandon who only recently received a motorcycle for his 21st Birthday and tragically was involved in a road accident whilst travelling to work with another vehicle in Queensland Australia.
He is now on life support fighting for his life in Hospital with multiple injuries.
To make matters worse my Cousin Steven , Brandon’s Dad , is a self employed tradie and financially doesn’t have the financial resources to take time away from his business or work to support his son whilst in hospital fighting for his life. So currently is driving back and forth from North of the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast between work and jobs to be with his son.
Brandon’s Mum is an emergency services worker.
They live apart.
This is heartbreaking for all of them and we live in different states of Australia and I just want to do what I can from a far and some how try and ease their burden as they journey through this tragic life changing event and trauma.
I was a nurse for 25 years myself and know exactly what they are up against.
We don’t know yet what will unfold in terms of Brandon’s future or recovery. But this young man needs his Mum & Dad by his side right now without financial burden or worry.
Our family are just your average Aussie battlers and have never reached out for financial assistance before and this is so hard to do and ask for.
Any amount will help with the additional costs that come with such tragic life changing accidents, for his parents to be able to take time off work to be with Brandon to support him every step of the way , to assist with travel and accommodation costs, ,living expenses and for Brandon’s care needs as they change and arise.
Any donation no matter how small will be appreciated
Your kindness will be immeasurable and priceless and go a long way in helping this family through this incredibly challenging time.
With a kind heart I thank you for taking the time to read, share and support this cause.
17/10/ 2024 Update:
Our family has received an update on Brandons condition the injuries sustained from the accident are consistent with resulting in life long disabilities which will require lifelong care needs.
Out of respect and to protect the privacy of Brandon and his immediate family as they come to terms with what is unfolding each day , specific details will not be posted publicly unless given permission to do so.
Brandon and his family will need all the care they can get for a long time to come and any money raised will go towards additional expenses arising as a result of this tragic life changing event and for Brandon’s care needs as they change and arise.

20/10/2024 Update:
I have now had an opportunity to talk to my Cousin Steven , Brandon’s Dad. To say it was emotional is an understatement.
Brandon like a little warrior is fighting hard. It’s been 12 days since Brandon’s accident and remains requiring intensive medical care. Whilst his condition has stabilised. There have been steps forward and steps backwards this will be the case for days , weeks and months ahead. It’s baby steps each and every day.
Steven is now aware of this fundraiser for Brandon and his family. He was lost for words and incredibly grateful.
Steven expressed his thanks with this message:
“ We are truly blessed with a tribe of people surrounding us with support. So thank you all for your well wishes, love, prayers, positive energy and support “
Thank you everyone for getting behind this cause for Brandon and his family. Keep spreading the word, sharing Brandon’s story and donate if you can honestly any small amount is going to make the life of this little warrior and his family just a little easier.
I saw on the news that at this years sculptures by the sea at Bondi that there is a sculpture titled “ Love me Tender “ the message behind this sculpture is ….
“ To take a moment to reflect how important love is and how it can bring communities together “
( Sorry I’ve tried to find the sculptors name but have been unable to find it if I do I’ll acknowledge them by name.)
I thought how fitting and it resonated with me deeply.
Keep fighting little warrior we are all behind you every step of the way on this journey that has been thrust upon you.
10/11/2024 Update:
Apologies I had to take a pause away from fund raising efforts as my own health took a nose dive but I’m back on track.
Cousin Steven (Brandon’s Dad ) has also become utterly rundown and exhausted trying to juggle all his responsibilities that he too is currently unwell and receiving medical care himself but is also on the mend. He has been travelling back and forth to the hospital to be with Brandon whilst juggling the responsibilities of his small business.
As the saying goes if it doesn’t rain it pours.
I’m ecstatic to report Brandon is making encouraging and positive progress despite having faced some challenges and set backs.
His condition is now stable enough to step down from intensive care but still requires 24 hour, around the clock high dependency care and breathing support however I am over the moon to report he has come out of his coma, is now recognising Mum and Dad which is the best news ever !!
Continues to fade in and out of consciousness , opening his eyes at times and able to give a thumbs up in acknowledgment.
He is receiving intensive therapies 3 times per day to give him the best possible recovery and outcomes. It won’t take much to put him back into intensive care but this is such wonderful progress for this little warrior.
A message from Brandon’s parents:
“ Thank you for all the love, prayers, positive vibes and thoughts being sent our way. It appears to be working and we are very grateful whatever you’re doing, it’s working so please keep it coming xx “
I personally would like to thank every single hospital staff member who has been looking after our little warrior and every hospital staff member who works at the hospital from the medical & nursing staff, the physiotherapists , Occupational & speech therapists, the cleaning , porters & administrative staff, the pathology & radiology staff and security staff. Every single staff member who works within a hospital plays a vital role in patient care.
” Thank you “ is such a small and simple gesture of appreciation of the wonderful work you do for your community.
Please continue to share Brandon’s story by sharing his story it gets the word out that he and his family need a little financial help to get them through this difficult time they are facing as a family.
When possible I hope to update with more photos and progress.
