 Here is latest update from her daughter..Hi friends and family,

I wanted to update you all on my family’s current situation. My mom, Shelly Hedges Barrell, has been very sick in the hospital for a little over a week now. She has been diagnosed with West Nile virus, which triggered a serious neurological condition called transverse myelitis. This occurred while she was in Hawaii on a layover, and she is still in Maui at the hospital until she gains enough strength to travel home. She is undergoing several types of intensive treatment at the moment, surrounded by an excellent team of doctors. There is a long road of recovery ahead of us, but she is extremely strong and I know she is fighting so hard to improve each day.

My family would really appreciate any thoughts, prayers, and positive vibes you can send our way. ❤️❤️
