If you know Brandi like we do, you know how much she is loved. She is always there for everyone and now she needs us.
Here is her story.
All last year she struggled with back pain and trying to figure out where it was coming from or how to treat it. She had MRIs, x-rays, ultrasounds, ct scans, etc.
Towards the end of last year she started getting sick a lot and got her gallbladder removed. Surgery went fine, but less than a week later she was still getting sick and she was getting really weak and felt like her body was shutting down. Adam took her to the ER Christmas Day and found out she was in kidney failure. It was caused by blockage in her ureter tubes, but nobody could figure out what’s causing the blockage.
She had stents put in to fix the blockage so her kidneys would function again, but one got misplaced and lodged into her and they ended up having to put a nephrostomy tube and bag in her back. The misplaced one caused a lot of scar tissue which made it hard to remove during the following surgeries. She had a few more, they changed out stents during one, they removed the misplaced on during one, they removed the nephrostomy tube and bag during one. Still during all this, no answer about what caused the blockage that lead to kidney failure.
In the past couple of weeks, she has had excruciating pain. She was admitted into the hospital again last week and the pain is worse than ever. One of the docs came in and when I showed him where the pain is, he said that’s not from the stents and ordered an MRI. The MRI came back with a tumor on her cervix that is cervical cancer.
They did a biopsy and are working now to get the pain under control. She will start 5 weeks of chemo and radiation in a couple weeks, and she will also have a pet scan when she leaves the hospital to see if the cancer has spread to anything else. If it has, she will have a second more aggressive round of chemo.
We are trying to raise as much money as we can to help Adam and Brandi get through this hard time with the least amount of stress as possible. Brandi is u able to work so helping with bills, medical and monthly would be a blessing.
Please help us show the love Brandi has shown for all of us one way or another by giving back.
