Safe At The Sanctuary in Special Needs Hospital

Safe at the sanctuary at last!
Poor little guy. This small box turtle named MANOO can fit in your hand. He was mauled by a family dog. It’s not the dog’s fault…after all box turtles are the size of chew toys. Worse, instead of getting veterinary care right away, MANOO was dropped off at an animal shelter.  We are so lucky to have him now. While there are numerous tooth marks and a few pieces of shell missing, this turtle will survive. He is so spunky!

MANOO is special for another reason. It's a father's pet name for a young man who recently died. His heartbroken dad contacted us and said that his son was a long time lover of all animals. What a better tribute to his son than to name a special needs turtle after him. MANOO will always be remembered at the sanctuary.
Please help turtles and tortoises like MANOO by donating to the sanctuary’s Special Needs Hospital at American Tortoise Rescue. These animals have a safe, forever home with us.
Our Hospital Fund helps animals sick or injured. You can help, too! No donation is too small, and every penny goes to medical care, food and housing, not overhead.
Your donation is life-saving.
Thank you and bless you,
