Bravery Box - This is what BRAVE looks like
Bravery Box create moments of joy, happiness and distraction for kids with cancer. A childhood with cancer is a childhood that should be filled with fun and laughter. On the days joy and happiness are hard to come by, we help children by supporting their families and by creating save spaces to talk and learn about pain, fear and grief.
We run on the smell of an oily rag. Our meeting rooms are our dining room tables and our coffee and cake is self supplied!
All of our funds support the family and support the child.
Our biggest spend is our super awesome 'This is what BRAVE looks like' tshirts.
When we launched our team T-Shirts in 2018, we could not have predicted how meaningful they were going to become. When a child is diagnosed with cancer at Qld Children's Hospital they are gifted a Tshirt that says 'This is what BRAVE looks like'.
Children proudly wear their “This is what BRAVE looks like” shirt when they want to celebrate their courage and when they need to find a little extra bravery.
Some very special Bravery Boxers have worn their shirts during their end of life and at their funerals.
The shirts have become deeply cherished and we want to make enough of them so no child misses out.
Any funds we collect over and above our program costs are donated to science; big beautiful brains researching an end to childhood cancer.
NO child should ever have to be cancer brave.
