This is SKYLER

Skyler is five years old and has suffered a horrible tragedy when he strayed outside this week, unnoticed by the babysitter. Somehow, as yet undetermined, he had found some matches. His clothing caught on fire and he is very seriously burned with 2nd and 3rd degree burns over the upper portion of his five-year-old body.

We are raising funds to help handle the upcoming medical expenses and other household needs for this family. They are a hard-working, deserving family. Skyler has four school-aged siblings at home. Mom and dad both work, she as a CNA at a hospital and he operates a small Landscaping business.

Unfortunately, Landscaping work in the winter, even in Florida, is S-L-O-W at best! The parents will now have to pull back from their jobs for whatever time is needed to care for Skyler. The medical bills and therapy costs are going to be overwhelming!

The preliminary medical reports indicate special creams and ointments, and wrappings for recovery. Then there is the Debridment process, which is the procedure for treating wounds of this nature. It involves thorough cleaning of the wounds and repeated removal all hyperkeratotic, infected, and necrotic tissue, foreign debris from the multiple wound sites. It is NOT going to be easy for either Skyler or his family. It looks like Skyler will be hospitalized for several months 100 miles from home receiving surgeries and skin grafts. We don’t know for how long. Things are looking very challenging.
