This Is Our City Film Fundraiser

Hello friends

My name is Joseph Galizia and I am an actor, writer, comedian, filmmaker, and most importantly...a lanky Italian who likes to dress up and dream big. (Proof ⬇️)

This Is Our City is my second film and my first feature. It is being produced by my supremely talented and beautiful wife, Marissa Lessman, and will feature an extremely impressive cast and crew, including some notable celebrities, from Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Chicago.

We are looking to supplement our funding for CREW, LOCATIONS, STUNTS, POST- PRODUCTION and FESTIVAL SUBMISSIONS. My last film was completely self-funded and it found massive success. It played in film festivals across five different countries, was the recipient of 20+ prestigious film awards, and found distribution through FilmHub. However, we need to go bigger this time, and that's where you come in!

THE STORY:

Blending crime drama with mockumentary comedy, THIS IS OUR CITY tells the hilarious story of Bill Galanarri, the son of a mob boss, who is trying to make a name for himself and his brother Frankie. Bill decides to hire a camera crew to document his life in hopes that the film becomes a big hit in Hollywood and earns him the respect he seeks in the criminal underworld. What he doesn't realize is that the crew he hires are undercover FBI agents, who use their exclusive access to try and bring down the Galanarri crime ring. When Bill and Frankie's father, along with the rest of the city's gangsters, get locked up, the dysfunctional brothers form their own crew and attempt to take the city over one bad plan at a time.

WHY THIS IS BEING MADE:

I've always found the world of organized crime to be as hilarious as it is compelling. Some of the most revered and successful film/television programs of all time have been centered around this genre. In my opinion, this fascination is due to the complex and chaotic motives of its characters, and how vastly different they are from the norm. There is also proof that sprinkling some comedic flair over this genre can be wildly successful as well, with films like Analyze This, The Hangover, Bullets Over Broadway, or even Dope continuing to stand the test of time. I believe that with the cast and crew we have assembled, THIS IS OUR CITY will fight right in with those timeless crime comedies. A film that is just pure dumb fun, but with enough heart to make you remember why we love movies so much in the first place.
