THIS IS MY BIRTHDAY PARTY (THE REMIX)
Donativo protegido
I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis when I was seven years old. Yes, it’s the leading cause of disability in the US. Yes, it affects me every day. It’s part of the package. I refuse to let my condition define me.
New York City is set to honor extraordinary women who are change-makers in our community on June 6— the day after my birthday (hiii 35)— and I’m really proud to be one of them.
This birthday hits different. Instead of a trip or a party or a dinner or the usual festivities (because we’re about to open a brand new play at Lincoln Center, umm.. yay)— I decided to celebrate like this. Funding research to fight this thing. And sending kids with my same disability to (free) summer camp, which is life changing.
A contribution DOES NOT need to be big. This is a 24 hour experiment. So, if you would have wanted to get a drink or lunch or dinner for my birthday, the idea is to donate that amount instead.
In advance— This is one hell of a gift. So thank you. It means more than you know.
