This Is Me Star Skating Towards the Olympics

My daughter Star deserves to stay on the ice

I’m writing this with a lump in my throat, but also with hope.

My daughter Star is 11 years old.

Full of fire, discipline, and talent.

From the moment she stepped on the ice, I knew this is where she belongs.

She trains hard and never gives up, even when it gets tough.

She’s also one of the very few Black girls in figure skating.

Every day, she shows what’s possible when you dare to dream.

But talent alone isn’t enough.

Ice time, coaching, competitions, gear it all adds up quickly.

Right now, we’re at a turning point.

Without extra support, we may have to pause her training.

And that would break her heart.

This season, she’s preparing to compete in Advance Novice,

and will attend several training camps to grow her skills.

These are big opportunities but they come with a big price tag.

We’re trying to raise €8,000 to cover her training, competitions, equipment, and camps for the coming season.
