This is our "Godson" Ethan and his mom, Pearl. Some of you know that Ethan was our foster son when he was a baby. He's now 9 years old, and he and his mom are like our family.

Thursday, December 12, just after Ethan had left for school in the morning,  there was an explosion and subsequent 2-alarm fire in the apartment directly below theirs. Three people were injured - one critically who later died.

The building was engulfed in flames. Thankfully, Pearl, her boyfriend, Anthony, and their two dogs were unharmed.

Unfortunately, not only have they been displaced from their home in Las Vegas, they've lost almost everything to the fire. They are devastated.

Pearl works her butt off, but she lives paycheck-to-paycheck.

The Red Cross has given them $1,000 to stay in a motel, but they're going to need so much more.
