Today I celebrate three decades on planet Earth. I step into this new chapter with renewed excitement for the next ten years and the possibilities ahead, already sensing that some of the best years of my life are still to come.

Looking back, I can see that some chapters required difficult choices. Twenty-seven became my tipping point — the moment I chose to take ownership of my future and move forward with intention. As the saying goes, “Change happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change.”

With the support of trusted friends, family, and many hours of therapy, I made the difficult decision to end my marriage and return to California — a turning point that opened the door to healing, education, and new possibilities. Over the past two years, I’ve been grateful to attend my local community college’s culinary program through nonprofit sponsorship, while gaining hands-on experience in Napa Valley’s food and hospitality industry.

This year alone has been a season of growth and joy — from spending hours with my hands in the soil on a culinary farm, to early mornings baking loaves upon loaves of sourdough, hosting at a local restaurant, and sharpening my skills as a barista. Along the way, I’ve met incredible people and found a community I’m deeply grateful for. This fall, I also launched a small business, Tending Green Table, and welcomed my first client providing in-home meal prep for local families.

As I step into this new decade, my focus is on building stability, continuing my education, and nurturing the work I’m growing with care and intention.
