A vision
A Third Space is a place outside of family or work to gather, find community and deeper connections. Such a space invites people to connect, engage, discover, create and learn within an atmosphere of belonging and safety.
Third Space Cafe is such a place with an added touch to support poverty relief, education and training while engaging in local community efforts. We are a not for profit that puts 100% of it’s profits back into people and care for the community where we live and work.
A Heart for People with Disabilities
Third Space Cafe is a unique not for profit, social enterprise coffee shop that seeks to employ and train people with developmental disabilities in necessary job skills to flourish, feel empowered in the work place and in turn bless the local community.
We are working toward affecting change in the Canadian stats that people with disabilities experience unemployment rates twice the national average. We are happy to be part of the solution while offering great service, amazing direct sourced, locally roasted coffee, beverages and great food affordably available to everyone.
Third Space Cafe is a place to exchange ideas, catch up on work, learn, share, encourage and care for others with an opportunity to pay if forward making great coffee and nutritious food affordable for those in the margins of our community.
Shouldn’t everyone have the opportunity to learn, work and enjoy a delicious cup of crafted coffee and nutritious food?
How can you help?
We not only need your prayers AND volunteers, but some start up capital since the necessary grants are not yet available until the fall or the following year. Currently, the Bodega Coffee, which will be called Third Space Cafe, is running itself financially, but needs a good boost so we can develop it into a destination place. When I say amazing coffee, I mean amazing direct-sourced coffees, plus great teas and necessities, food, etc. The team has many great ideas that need funding to really make this thing become what it needs to be, including a local roastery for it's own coffee.
Our financial needs. $20,000 for the year to get it where it needs to be.
Our immediate needs are:
1. Inventory capital
2. Physical plant capital for cabinets and counters, some electrical work, better coffee grinders and general equipment for both coffee and teas and other drinks. It's functional now, but not up to standard.
3. Capital for signage and marketing design.
4. Funds for a decent Point of Sale system using Square or something similar.
Your support will help us develop this enterprise and drive more traffic so it sustains itself to its potential.
