Mike’s Road to recovery
Monday, August 17, Mike was in a horrific work accident. A 2000 lb steel Dock Plate fell on him, crushing him. Through the grace of God he survived!
He has gone through 3 surgeries, First he had to have heart surgery due to his main Aorta valve being fractured and not flowing blood properly to his heart. Next he went through spinal surgery where they have found he has 10 fractures along his spine. All of his ribs on his right side are broken and 4 on his left side are broken. He then went back in for an exploratory surgery due to losing the feeling in his right leg. They found a blood clot along with more spinal compressions, also bleeding in his spine, which they say will heal on its own. After this surgery they are keeping him in ICU, with a breathing tube, because he is not getting enough oxygen in his body. Today Mike's oxygen level dropped, the nurses rushed in, pumped oxygen into his lungs. They had him awake, he still has no feeling in his right leg or foot. They told Diana he would be intubated through tomorrow. They came in and are taking him for a scan of his chest to make sure he doesn't have any blood clots. **update** No blood clots in his lungs! The will be taking the breathing tube out today
Please please keep the prayers coming This is where we are at this point.
You guys of all been so amazing with all your prayers and good thoughts. So many have asked how they can help, so I have put this together to help them with normal everyday expenses. Diana is starting to worry about how she will handle things for the next couple of weeks, and I really don’t want her to worry about anything other than her, Mike and Michael!
Any amount is appreciated and will help! $1, $2 maybe give up that Starbucks today and donate $8!
Thank you all again for all the love and support you have shown Mike and Diana!
