Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Nick and I have a goal to raise enough money to bring Adrien, Sofia (and ourselves) to Bracknell, England to meet their Great Grandparents, Grandparents, Uncles, Great Aunt and all the other extended family that we have there. As much as we wish we could just book a flight and head on over, that's not a reality for us. That being said, we have put ourselves out there to all of you, our friends and family to humbly ask for your help to make this happen for us.
My grandparents are not getting any younger, my Nan and Grandad are in their 80's and it has been wearing on my heart to think that Adrien and Sofia might not get the the chance to meet them. Fia and Adrien bring great joy to everyone they meet and we hope we can find a way for them to spread that joy to our family across the pond.
So...after much discussion, Nick and I thought we should just try this, to put ourselves out there and ask for the help we need and see if we can make it happen this summer. What we are asking for is your help with the flight and baggage fees, and that comes to something close to $4,800ish. Nick and I will be saving up to pay for the 10-12 days/nights of hotel stays. We know we're asking a lot, but we'd be kicking ourselves if we didn't at least try to make this work.
The dates we are looking at flights are sometime between August 1st and August 20th and we would stay for about 10-12 days. Our goal is to reach $4800ish in order to book our flight close to the ticket prices of $1,200. If we do not reach our goal, we will not be able to make the trip this year. That being said, anything we do receive will be put aside to be used to make the trip next summer after having more time to save up. But we are very optimistic and very driven to do what needs to be done to make it happen this year.
On top of any help from you all, we will be doing things ourselves to try to achieve our goal like a garage sale this summer and Nick will be picking up more work at night. However, when all that is said and done, we would only be able to come up with a fraction of what we need to make this happen. So again, that's why we are asking all of you.
