***THE $2000 THAT WE NEEDED HAS BEEN RAISED. However, some have suggested I raise the amount. Anything raised above that amount will be used for other medical needs, including the addition of a shower on our lower level, since I cannot safely ascend/descend the stairs.

A number of years ago, I was diagnosed with Spinocerebellar Ataxia, an extremely rare disease with no cure or significant form of treatment. I am already experiencing difficulties that take away from my quality of life - I am no longer able to walk without assistance, I cannot write, eating is difficult, and, unfortunately much more.
As a father or six, it is very difficult for me to participate in their events. I am also unable to go shopping or go to other public places (such as the library or zoo) without great difficulty.
I have attempted to rent power chairs in the past, but it is very expensive and often times, the equipment I am paying for is in bad condition.
I am looking to fund raise $2000 to purchase a chair, as well as additional batteries and other accessories (this goal has been met).
