Hi I’m Bobby Vega. I am an independent business owner from Los Angeles, California. I am a vintage clothing, boutique called thewalkingthread, and we have been in business since 2013. Everything ha had been running smoothly and I was moderately successful up until October 2022 when my van was stolen what happen next was a monopoly game between me, the police station and the tow yard. Ultimately my van was not only damaged beyond repair but they had stolen a significant amount of inventory my guitar , my equipment for flea markets, and two commissioned pieces that I had to end up refunding $300. Needless to say I spent the next month completely depressed.
After snapping out of my depression, I started to work again and focus on trying to rebuild and restore the status I was at with my van. Luckily I have been blessed with a very, very cool roommate who allowed me to use his car for my important errands but it’s been months and every time I seem to be making headway, I fall back into the hole because of some thing or another, which is why I’m here and asking for the help of my friends and family and hopefully some strangers as well.
Once I’m back on my game and making my money steadily again I plan on returning the gratitude in one way or another.
It’s embarrassing for me to come to you all with this type of endeavor but I’m at a loss of ideas. I am falling behind on my bills, my cats need flea medicine badly, I can’t afford to buy more inventory to sell and I can’t even do flea markets without the van.
I hate to pull this card but I have no family . My mother and father are both passed on. Grandparents, gone. And my best friend moved away. Which is frankly why I would even humor this kind of support signal.
Thank you for reading this and I love yalll no matter what you donate or not. I’m just thankful my music and business have brought so many great friends into my life.
Thank you
