Latif Yeniceri and Maysa Gharib have poured their hearts into Yellow Dog Village, an abandoned mining community in Northwest Pennsylvania that they transformed into a vibrant tourist attraction. Over the past three years, they have brought new life and business to the area, all while caring for the animals that live in the village. Their kindness and willingness to lend a hand have touched countless people in the community.

Not only did Latif and Maysa help start the process of rebuilding Yellow Dog Village after years of neglect, but now they face the unimaginable: on December 19th, a fire broke out in their home’s chimney around 3pm. While Latif, Maysa, and most of the animals escaped safely, their house was completely destroyed. The loss is even more heartbreaking as one of their beloved housecats, Zelda, is still missing. The fire has left them without a place to live and in urgent need of support to care for themselves and the animals that depend on them.
