The Wytches Vendetta

www.phlixa.com Phlixa Productions is a group of film makers in Devon UK working with those who are over 50 and those who are learning about film making. As such our activities aim to help people stay engaged as they approach and enter retirement.  Young people also find it difficult to gain real work experience in film and TV, often finding themselves either working for nothing as an intern, or making tea as a runner.  Hence we also encourage them to join in our projects where they can gain real film making skills on the job.

Our next production (our 10th so far) is a short film drama based around the true story of the hanging of 3 women in Exeter in 1682.

The "Bideford Witches" were accussed by neighbours of casting spells and sentenced to death. The three were killed just as the 17th century witch hunts came to an end in England, making theirs the last public hanging in England.  Yes it would be a good story if this  were fiction, but this is the truth. And still today they stand convicted. No pardon granted, no justice.

In this short film, justice is done, as the decendants of these murdered women vow to bring vengence.

We are seeking people to join the production as actors and crew, plus contribute as costume designers and makers, props construction and help with marketing and promotion.  No previous experience is needed.

The funds will be used for expenses to cast to crew, production insurance, hire of equipment and post production editing, plus a budget to market and promote the film to festivals across the globe.

We are aiming to start filming in January 2020 and are looking to raise the necessary funds by then.

With this support we can ensure that film is shot on HD format with professional cameras/ lighting and sound and that sufficient time can be allocated to ensure the production is not rushed, often a factor in not reaching a satisfactory outcome for short films.

We will be very grateful for any funding provided and have allocated a number of rewards that will accrue to various levels of funding as follows:
